Bodysuits and Bridal and Shapewear 5:05 pm
Hi Ladies,
While most of my bridal posts address brides themselves - or their bridesmaids - I would like to devote this note to the dear mothers out there! Here are a few tips to help two of the most important wedding guests - the mother of the bride, and of the groom - look their very best on their loved one’s big day:
1. Make sure to select a foundation with supportive bra cups. It must fit nice and tight. We don’t want mom pulling on the neckline of her dress throughout the evening.
2. Consider bodysuits or control briefs with double - or triple - paneled front sections. This will cinch the midsection effectively.
3. Do not size down in firm control styles! While it may be tempting to size down to cinch an extra inch, this will only result in bulging around the seams and discomfort.
Here’s a Va Bien style that is quite popular among mothers of the bride - it offers great bust support and firm-but-comfortable slimming:

Love you Mom!
Best,
Marianne

Hi Marianne! I am getting married in a couple months and I am looking for something that is really going to take some inches off of my waistline. My dress is a strapless, sweetheart neckline, A-line dress. What are your suggestions for the best undergarment that is really going to hold my midsection in, shape my breasts, and control my back and love hangles too? I would like something longer, so it doesn’t push the fat down to my hips.
Thank you!

Hi Amanda!
Everything in your comments says “bustier” to me! A bustier will address each need that you mentioned, from cinching your waistline to lifting your bust. I suggest trying out these two styles, both of which have sweetheart necklines to suit your dress:

How do those look to you?

They look great! Which one will give me more support and hold me in the best?

I am only 5′2, so i’m pretty petite. Do you think those would still work best for me?

Both will give you terrific support and hold you in nicely. The style #513 is the longer of the two, so although that style typically does work well for petite frames, let’s be safe and put you in the #1503. While its length measures about the same, it is made of stretch fabric - rather than #513, which is rigid - and so as it stretches vertically, it will lose just a bit of length - and likely end up at the perfect spot on your hips.

Amanda,
Don’t forget for your color pick the nude color. You will find that it will disappear and not take away from your dress.
Good luck with your wedding. I’m sure you will look amazing. You can’t go wrong listening to MG.
